Sometimes you have to use plug-ins to do them, but it will still play them. Like FLAC, far superior to MP3 or WMA, will play wav files, cda files, internet radio and tv, currently it will not work with downloaded Napster files, MusicMatch, MusicNow, or BuyMusic, but they claim that it will be fixed soon. It will support cd ripping, cd burning, media library indexing, media importing, scheduled media library rescanning for new content. It will also play video. Why would you want any other software based MP3 player? Best of all it is free! I will not get into the P2P file sharing market, because it is most likely the most controversial subject on the internet today. The RIAA sues people over it. Why is it so controversial? Because you have unlimited downloads of copyright protected material available to you to share or download. Some musicians love to be able to share their music, because it gives them free advertising and publicity, but some other musicians hate it, and so do the record companies. Why? They loose money from every download, since you will not go out and pay money for the real CD's.  Teenagers especially love this P2P technology because of the fact that it is free to them, they do not want to spend their hard earned money from paper routes or mowing lawns on new CD's when they can just download it, and burn it to a CD or upload it to their MP3 players using the internet and their parents laptops. It is estimated that their are over 9 billion songs available on the P2P file sharing networks today. This number will increase in huge percentages everyday. How do we stop it. Record companies are trying in many ways to come up with new ideas to persuade people from downloading and just go to the store to buy the recordings. Is it working? The simple answer is, NO! They try to put DVD's in the packages now to give an extra bonus, they try to use encryption, but the internet community is too powerful nowadays. Someone has always got a work around or a fix out and available almost as soon as the protection is first released, sometimes even before. High-Speed broadband internet has made P2P file sharing as easy as doing a search on www.google.com with the help of P2P file sharing software like Kazaa, eMule, Morpheous, BitTorrents, file donkey, edonkey, etc. Peer to Peer has acted as though it is as easy to download a song as it is to open a webpage. I personally think that the only way the record companies can overcome this problem is to embrace it. How that can be done, I am not sure. Even the pay to download sites, like iTunes, Napster, MusicMatch, and BuyMusic are suffering from being to expensive for downloading. I may as well go out and buy the finished product at the prices they are selling MP3's for, and I still have to use a CD to burn it, and I do not get the cover art.
